Poems

This week we have been working on poems, using hyperbole, similies, metaphors and personification! A year 8 student, Nikolao has written some amazing poems that we want to share with you today!

Me, Myself and I

I'm so thirsty I can drink a whole pond,
As well as the ocean,
But more wider and long.
As dark as the night,
As green as the leaves,
Sometimes I wonder,
Where should I be.
So when I grow old and wrinkly and dry,
That will be the place,
Where I'll live my last life.
Though when the time comes for me to go,
I will watch over those people,
Who are lonely and old.

Beach

As I walk on the beach,
With my feet so bare,
I suddenly see seagulls dashing through the air.
I feel so excited,
I'm going to drop,
But the swish and the crash keeps telling me not.
The sand dunes so high,
And the rocks are so low,
I'm begging you sand,
Can you please let me go?
I feel like I'm trapped in this wonderful beach,
because my excitements so strong,
That it won't let me screech.
But I really cannot stay here for long,
because home sweet home is where I belong.

Both poems by Nikolao!

Well done Nikolao, your poems are great!
